The other day I was taking pictures of this apartment complex that was on fire. I managed to capture some automotive mediocrity. So this ought to be a fun challenge.
For me it’s:
Daily: Fusion, out of all the cars, it’s the prettiest (to me)
Track: The Silverado Regular Cab, it’s the only vehicle with RWD in this picture, I think it could be a fun track vehicle if it were lowered, added lightness and had a few other modifications. Let’s hope it’s a manual.
Burn: The crossover on the right side, whatever it is.

That crossover is an Equinox

I’d daily the Fusion, track the Cobalt (LNF swap!) and burn the Caravan.

I suppose that’s a solid family/grocery car. I’m starting to feel bad.

I did consider the cobalt! It would probably be pretty good, even if you just make it as light as humanly possible.

Daily: Malibu Maxx because it’s just so fugly and weird.
Track: Grand Caravan, stripped interior. 280hp goes a long way when empty.
Burn: Cobalt. I’ll just drive it on a rutted road until the ignition shuts off and I DIAF.

Its an appliance. nothing special

Haha, I like your Caravan theory.
Those Malibu’s are weeeird, that’s why I couldn’t bring myself to burn it.

Daily the Silverado, as much as people like to hate on trucks they’re a great practical day-to-day vehicle.
Since we’re allowing modifications, track the Malibu Maxx—after modding it into an SS clone (though probably with more power). Firsthand experience is they’re great fun to drive and actually handle very well. Really, this should be daily AND track, but rulez... Also fwiw all this could also apply to the Cobalt.
Burn the Equinox with napalm. Crush remains. Melt down and cast into something more appealing, like a statue of the AIDS virus.

I also wanted to add that the sheer number of domestic vehicles on Michigan’s roads never ceases to amaze me. I live along a major interstate that Midwesterners take to the beach and I can’t even remember seeing a MI tag on any foreign marque at all. In fact, many cars I forgot existed will show up with MI tags. And the early adoption of new models, like the Pacifica. I think I saw 20 Michigan Pacificas before I saw a single one from here in AL. TL/DR: Regional buying habits are very interesting to me.

So, I can’t choose the Cobalt, the Malibu Maxxxxx in the foreground, or the rental Malibu on the far right?
Disappointing. I want to see them all burnnnnnnnnn.

I forgot they made an SS in that year of the Malibu.

It’s true, I am always amazed when I venture beyond the state of Michigan, the automotive landscape changes significantly.
Is there a chart that breaks down domestic vehicle ownership percentages by state?
![]() 07/21/2017 at 09:50 |
|
Why can’t you choose them?

It was fun as frig, too. 240hp wasn’t a ton, but the 240lb-ft went a long way. Highway miles were effortless. Corners were parties.
And that works too.

I thought we were limited to the Fusion/Pickup/Equinox? If not, I’d be very happy to daily the Silverado, all day, every day. I’d track the Maxx- - LeMons style, of course. And burn the Cobalt - the SS is cool, otherwise nope. The new Fusion looks nice to me, but the one in the pic is just meh.
![]() 07/21/2017 at 09:56 |

Nope, not limited.
The Maxx would be a fun LeMons car!
![]() 07/21/2017 at 09:59 |
|
It would! The Cobalt would be a candidate for that, too—

What part of Michigan are you from?

I’m in Grand Rapids

Dd Silverado
Track fusion bc it has FiST blood in it
Burn all the other cars with chevy badges
![]() 07/21/2017 at 10:31 |

The crossover looks like an equinox
![]() 07/21/2017 at 10:32 |

Ah, okay. I’m in Garden City.

Daily the Fusion
Track the Fusion
Save the Silverado for hauling and home projects
Burn the 2 Malubus, Equinox, Cobalt, Aveo, and Dodge Grand Caravan
Can anyone figure out the gold car behind the Cobalt?
![]() 07/21/2017 at 11:06 |

That’s a tough one to identify! It looks similar to the Cobalt, but slightly different.
![]() 07/21/2017 at 11:32 |

I had similar thoughts. Maybe a 2003 Civic?
![]() 07/21/2017 at 12:14 |

Daily the Maxx, Track the Silverado, burn the one eyed Cobalt.
![]() 07/21/2017 at 12:14 |

The Maxx does seem practical. Such an oddity!
![]() 07/21/2017 at 12:15 |

Yeah I thought maybe Honda too!
![]() 07/21/2017 at 12:15 |

HAHAHA, we have our answer in my next picture and aside from the Mazda on the right, everything is still domestic, wow.

A buddy of my me has had one for years. It had a huge amount of legroom. It’s a shame they didn’t make a version of it on the following generation.
![]() 07/21/2017 at 12:18 |

definitely a shame. But hey, after all those years, we get a Buick wagon at least.
![]() 07/21/2017 at 12:23 |

That Mazda 6 was built in Flat Rock, MI though.
Burn that Malibu too.

I’m excited for that!
